Five tips for beautiful outfit for your Engagement sessions

Today’s blog post is all about giving some inspiration and ideas to all my current and future CC Brides. Providing style advice as they prep for their engagement sessions outfits. It can be overwhelming planning out outfits of what to wear to your engagement session. So grab a cup of coffee and read on to ease stress and get ready to look classic and beautiful in your engagement photographs that are still authentically you.

  1. Many of couples will have two outfits for their engagement sessions, one outfit will be dressier and then one is more casual and relaxed. Two is a great number only because the more outfits you have, the fewer portraits you’ll receive but you will have a wide variety in your portraits.
  2. Let’s coordinate outfit’s instead of matching them perfectly. Wearing the same color in a different shade is more ideal than matching the exact color. An example would be avoiding both wearing navy tops with khaki bottoms because it comes across like you’re wearing uniforms.
  3. If you start to feel overwhelmed, take a breath and remember that simple is perfect too. Some of my most favorite engagement sessions have the groom rocking a solid colored V-neck.
  4. If a bride wants to wear a gorgeous navy gown then the groom should probably not wear jeans and a basic t-shirt. Just make sure to be equal in how formal or casual your attire is.
  5. I saved the best for last! Even though there are more tips in my bridal guide that’s given to all my Comfort & Cashmere Brides. I highly recommend paying attention to wearing attire that is flattering to your figure and your skin tone. I know it seems like common sense, but I’ve personally made the mistake of thinking a color looks amazing with my skin tone and then seeing a photo and looking green. Everyone has certain things that looks amazing on them and certain things that aren’t made for me them. I know for me, I love the color mustard but I have a more olive skin tone so that color brings out green shades, so I know not to photograph in mustard. Bottom line is to make sure you’re wearing clothing that make you feel beautiful, confident, and comfortable. I’ll teach you how to pose in flattering ways, but you’ll fall in love with your images over and over again if you wear an outfit that you’re comfortable and confident in.

This information comes straights from my Bridal Guide. I love giving my brides resources so they feel prepared and ready for the wedding experience with me!
